Checklist

Here's a list of things that you must and/or might want to bring to Metro Brokers TriathlON Friday. It's not all inclusive but perhaps will help you remember something that you hadn't thought about.

REQUIRED

  • Photo ID - NO ID, NO RACE, NO EXCEPTIONS (USAT Requirement). Youth athletes without an ID must be accompanied by a parent/guardian with a photo ID.
  • Swim suit - nude swimming not allowed
  • Bike - read the rules about what is and isn't allowed
  • Handlebar caps / plugs - be sure your bike has these to avoid puncture wounds
  • Bike Helmet - don't leave home without it
  • Shoes - no barefoot biking and/or running allowed
  • USAT Membership - either have a card or pay $10 for the one-day membership
  • Swim Cap - No worries! One will be provided when you check-in

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
  • Wetsuit - warmth and buoyancy can help your time
  • Goggles - makes it easier to see in the water
  • Anti-fog solution - keep those goggles clear
  • Glasses (Sun or other) - bugs love cyclist without glasses
  • Towel for Transition - dry off, wipe your feet, etc.

MIGHT ALSO CONSIDER
  • "Body Glide" - or alternate wetsuit helper
  • Cycling Gloves - not too important in sprint distance triathlons
  • Cycling Shirt - a tight jersey that you can run in as well works
  • Cycling Shorts - or triathlon shorts of course
  • Cycling Shoes - help with efficient pedaling
  • Tire Patch Kit, Tube, Pump - better safe than stranded with a flat
  • Water Bottles - for when the aid stations aren't nearby
  • Bike Socks - a personal preference thing
  • Sun Screen - not prime-time for burns but some might need it
  • Mosquito Repellent - mosquito's can be the best motivation not to walk during the run. But after the run...

PRE & POST RACE STUFF
  • Money - Check, credit or cash accepted if you need to pay your entry fee or USAT fee at registration. Professional race photos will also be for sale at and after the event. Additional meal tickets for non-racers are $6 and Coors beer is available (donations accepted with all money going to Adaptive Adventures).
  • Comfortable shoes - before and after footware is nice
  • Comfortable clothes - in case you want to chance out of your spandex afterwards
  • Jacket / Sweatshirt - it might get chilly later in the evening
  • Garbage Bag - for your wet and sweaty gear after the race
  • Hydration - there will be water and various sports drinks (Red Bull, water, GU20) but if you want something else, bring it.
